Late last week, Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes inked a contract extension which included a salary increase. Now, according to the , the assistant coaches have received raises as well, something that Barnes pushed for. According to the report, the three assistant coaches are now making the following:
Rob Lanier: $425,000 (was $390,113)
Desmond Oliver: $275,000 (was $225,000)
Michael Schwartz: $275,000 (was $231,750)
Last season, the Volunteers won the regular-season SEC Championship and advanced to the title game of the SEC Tournament. They entered the NCAA Tournament as #3 with a 26-9 record which was the fourth-most wins in program history. For his efforts (and the efforts of the staff), Barnes was named the 2018 SEC Coach of the Year and was runner-up for Naismith National Coach of the Year.
