The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi men’s basketball program made an addition to its staff with the hiring of Kevin Jewell as Video Coordinator, announced by Head Coach Steve Lutz.

Jewell arrives at The Island University after spending a season as Director of Operations at Omaha where he was responsible for all travel and daily logistics.

“I am incredibly grateful to join Coach Lutz and the rest of the Islanders family in Corpus Christi. Coach Lutz has been there through every step of my career and I feel honored to help him live out a dream. I know that we will make the Islanders family and the community of Corpus Christi proud in our pursuit of championships and NCAA Tournaments,” Jewell said.

Jewell previously served two years on the staff at Wisconsin as a graduate assistant from 2018-20. He assisted the Director of Basketball Operations with scheduling and administrative duties.

During his stint at Wisconsin, the Badgers won the 2020 Big Ten regular season championship and earned a No. 5 seed for the 2019 NCAA Tournament.

“I’m excited to have Kevin on board here at A&M-Corpus Christi and he’ll give us a big boost on the video side. I admire Kevin’s love for the game, and he’ll be another passionate person to have around our student-athletes and staff,” Lutz said.

Prior to Wisconsin, Jewell worked at Creighton for four seasons, including back-to-back NCAA Tournament berths in 2017 and 2018. He served as a manager from 2014-17 and an assistant video coordinator in 2017-18.

Jewell graduated with his bachelor’s degree in economics and financial planning from Creighton in 2018 and his master’s degree in educational leadership and policy analysis from Wisconsin in 2020.
