URI Dirt…

I have now heard from multiple sources that University of Rhode Island head coach Danny Hurley will add Antonio Reynolds Dean to his staff.  He will replace Luke Murray who became an assistant at Xavier last week.

Reynolds Dean is a URI alum (’99) who finished his collegiate career with the Rams scoring 1,576 points and still ranks second all-time in career blocks (235) and third all-time in career rebounds (1,028). The school-record holder for most consecutive games appeared and started in (131), Reynolds Dean was named the 1995-96 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year.  After graduation, he spent nine seasons playing professionally.

His coaching career began at Fairfield as the DBO.  He then moved to Northeastern where he spent five seasons as an assistant to Bill Coen. Last season was his first at C of C.  He actually spent some time as the interim head coach for the Cougars last August after Doug Wojcik was released.

An official announcement is expected any day.
