I have heard that new VMI head coach Dan Earl is prepared to officially introduce his staff this week. I have heard that he will retain current assistant Ben Thompson, and add Chris Kreider and Steve Lepore. Thompson joined Duggar Baucom’s staff at VMI last season.  He was previously an assistant UNC Pembroke, and also worked at St. Leo and UNC Greensboro.  Kreider sent the past four seasons working for Paul Hewitt as George Mason, and was not retained when Hewitt was fired earlier this spring.  He also worked for Hewitt in an administative role at Georgia Tech and spent two seasons as an assistant at Georgia Southern.  HoopDirt.com first mentioned Lepore as a candidate here back on 5/1 (Daily Dirt – 5/1/15). The former Wake Forest guard has been at Hargrave for the past two seasons. Look for the official announcement some time this week.
