Walters Resigns at Montreat College

Athletic Director Jose Larios has recently announced the resignation of men’s head basketball coach, Lincoln Walters.

“Montreat College wishes to thank Coach Walters for his years of service and love for our student athletes. His leadership on our campus will be greatly missed,” said Larios.

Coach Walters’ decision to step down will provide him a greater opportunity to invest time and effort in his furniture business in Black Mountain, The Asheville House.  “My wife and I would like to share how much we love Montreat, and all the joy it’s brought us over the years and appreciate the extended family we’ve gained through our time here,” shared Walters. “This place has given us so many memories and again, we are so grateful for our time here.”

Assistant Coach Ray Henderson will continue all communications with current student athletes and Montreat’s basketball prospects during the final recruiting stages.

A search for Montreat College’s next men’s basketball head coach will begin immediately.
