Cleveland State Head Basketball coach Gary Waters has received a contract extension which would keep him with the school through the 2012-2013 season. Waters, who took over the program in 2006, led the Vikings to an NIT appearance this past season with a 21-13 record. The previous season, the Vikings were 10-21. Waters has a career coaching record of 202-169 with stops at Kent State and Rutgers before he took over at Cleveland State.
