I have now heard from multiple sources that Youngstown State will hire Brady Trenkle as an assistant coach. Trenkle had most recently served as the head coach at Garden City CC (KS) where he had spent the past five seasons (94-64). Prior to coming to GCCC, Trenkle was the head coach at Dodge City CC (KS). He holds a 164-115 career record in his nine years as a head coach.

Back in April, Youngstown State signed Garden City guard Kendale Hampton, who was a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference All-League player for Trenkle last season.

Garden City will elevate Patrick Nee to head coach to replace Trenkle (JUCO DIRT).

An official announcement is expected by the end of the week.
