According to a Jeff Goodman tweet, Alabama assistant Antoine Pettway is expected to be hired as the new head coach at Kennesaw State. He would replace Amir Abdur-Rahim who took over at South Florida back on March 29th.
Pettway, an Alabama alum, has spent 15 seasons on the basketball staff at his alma mater. He also spent two seasons as an assistant at Jacksonville State.
The veteran assistant would be the third staffer to depart the Alabama staff this off season for a head coaching opportunity. Earlier this spring, Charlie Henry was hired at Georgia Southern, and Brian Hodgson was hired at Arkansas State.
More on this one when it becomes official.
