Tufts Basketball Staff Update

Brendan Fitzpatrick and Brendan Cunningham have been added to the Tufts University men’s basketball staff ahead of the 2025-26 season.

Brendan Fitzpatrick

Brendan Fitzpatrick came to Tufts as an assistant coach in the fall of 2025, joining the Jumbos after a year as an assistant coach at The University of Hartford. 

As an assistant at Hartford, he was charged with recruiting while also helping with the team’s academics and player development. Prior to Hartford, he was an assistant at Oswego State from 2023-24, where he helped the Lakers to a 26-3 record under head coach Jason Leone. He was park of the SUNYAC Coaching Staff of the Year in 2023-24, while helping coach an All-American and SUNYAC Player of the Year Jeremiah Sparks. He also recruited SUNYAC Player and First-Year of the Year Deacon Judd. 

Fitzpatrick also has coaching stops at Cortland, Farmingdale State as well as coaching at Hofstra and Long Island Nets camps. He also was a coordinator for Maximize Basketball Development, as well as coaching for the Level Up Long Island AAU program. 

A graduate of Cortland with a degree in sport management in 2020, he was a four-year student-athlete and senior captain for the Red Dragons where he earned All-SUNYAC honors. 

Brendan Cunningham

Brendan Cunningham joins the Tufts men’s basketball staff in the fall of 2025 as a volunteer assistant coach. Cunningham comes to Tufts after serving as the varsity assistant boy’s coach at Quincy High School in Quincy, Massachusetts. 

He also has stops as an assistant at Eastern Nazarene College, while earning his BSBA in Sport Management from Mount Ida College in 2018. He played hoops for Mount Ida from 2014-18.
