Brandon Lenhart has been selected as the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach while Maverick Harris has been promoted to Director of Basketball Operations for the men’s and women’s programs at Minot State, head coach Matt Murken announced on Tuesday.
“I’m extremely excited to add Brandon to our coaching staff,” said Murken. “I’ve known Brandon for a long time and always been impressed with the high level of coach and person that he is. With his experience and energy, he will add a tremendous value to our team, staff and campus.”
Lenhart comes to Minot State after serving 12 seasons as the head coach at McCook Community College in McCook, Neb. In those 12 seasons, he produced nine All-Region IX players, 36 NCCAC All-Conference and five All-Region IX Tournament team selections. Lenhart’s teams also had success in the classroom with seven Academic-All Americans, 18 Academic All-Region selections and 24 Academic All-Conference players in the 12-year stint.
“I am extremely excited to join the Minot State family,” commented Lenhart. “My family and I are looking forward to moving to Minot to begin our new journey. I want to thank Coach Murken, Andy Carter and Minot State for believing in me to be the assistant men’s basketball coach. Leaving McCook will be hard, it’s been one of the best 12 years of our lives. I am looking forward to once again helping to make an impact on young people’s lives each and every day while at Minot State.”
Prior to his head coaching stint, Lenhart spent six seasons as the assistant coach at William Penn University. He helped guide William Penn to four conference championship appearances and helped in claiming a conference championship and NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball National Tournament appearance.
