Earlier today, the NCAA announced it’s sanctions against SMU and head coach Larry Brown after concluding that Brown lied to investigators, ignored academic fraud and fell far short of expectations in leading his staff when it came to compliance. Brown has been suspended for nine games (30% of the season), SMU was placed on probation of three years, the basketball team has been banned from post season play in 2016, and the team will also lose nine scholarships over the next three years.
