University of Missouri-St. Louis head men’s basketball coach Bob Sundvold has announced the resignation of assistant coach Dale Ribble. Ribble leaves UMSL to head-up Cross Court Basketball Academy in St. Louis.

“We wish Coach Ribble the best of luck in his new adventure and thank him for his time at UMSL with the men’s basketball program,” said Sundvold. “He has been a great ambassador for both the University and our program and we are excited for him as he begins this next journey.”

Ribble spent five years at UMSL, including two under Sundvold. He spent his first three seasons working under Steve Tappmeyer, where he helped the program to three straight winning seasons and the 2011-12 GLVC West Division crown. In two years as an assistant under Sundvold, the Tritons also produced back-to-back winning seasons.

“I don’t know if I can adequately express in words how much I have enjoyed my time at UMSL and the people here – everyone from the coaching staff and the athletics department to the campus administration and the staff and faculty, as well as our players,” said Ribble. “Coaching college basketball is what I have done for over 20 years, but I felt like it was time to make a change and that this opportunity was something I had to do.”

Ribble coaching career has included serving as the head coach at Lindenwood University (1997-2001) and at State Fair Community College (2007-10) as well as serving as an assistant coach at Hastings College, Missouri State and Drury University.
