UNCG men’s basketball head coach Wes Miller has announced the promotion of Chris LePore to Director of Basketball Operations Tuesday. LePore has spent the past two seasons on the Spartans’ staff as a graduate assistant manager.
“It is an honor to work alongside Coach Miller and his staff” LePore said. “This program is heading in the right direction and I am fired up to take on a new role. At UNCG we attack every day with a ‘let’s go’ mentality!”
LePore’s primary role as director of basketball operations is oversight of all administrative elements of the program, including team travel, budget, compliance and administrative recruiting support. He also serves as the camp director of Wes Miller Basketball Camps.
As the graduate assistant manager, he has served as the camp director for the Wes Miller Basketball Camps, developed graphic design work for the program and handled all social media accounts. Additionally, he organized the calendars of Miller and his coaching staff, planned recruiting visits, coordinated team meals, assisted with film exchange and created and executed all recruiting mail outs.
Prior to UNCG, LePore spent two seasons as the student manager for the Belmont men’s basketball program. He helped with film clips, scouting reports, setting up for practices, assisting individual workouts and worked with Belmont players before and after practices and games.
LePore also spent two seasons as the assistant varsity boys basketball coach for Centennial High School while serving as the head junior varsity and freshman coach. LePore earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Belmont in journalism/secondary education in 2014. He finished up his Masters of Arts in liberal studies at UNCG in 2016.
