I have heard from great sources that NAIA DI Wiley College (TX) will name Jay Smith as their new head basketball coach. Smith has been an assistant at NAIA powerhouse, and fellow Red River Athletic Conference member LSU Alexandria since the program’s inaugural season in 2014. During his three years at LSU-A, the Generals have gone 86-9, and advanced to the NAIA DI Final Four in 2016-17. An official announcement is expected as early as Friday.
