According to multiple reports, including one from Jon Rothstein, Indiana is closing in on a deal to hire Mike Woodson as their next head men’s basketball coach.
The 63-year old Woodson played at Indiana from 1976-1980. He then spent ten seasons in the NBA as a player after being selected by the Knicks as the 12th overall pick of the 1980 draft. After his playing days, he became an assistant with multiple NBA teams, before taking over as the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks (2004-10). Woodson also spent 2012-14 as the head coach of the New York Knicks, and is currently an assistant there.
