Authier promoted to Associate Head Coach at Augustana (SD)

Augustana head men’s basketball coach Tom Billeter has announced the promotion of Collin Authier from assistant coach to associate head coach of the Vikings.

“Collin has been an incredibly hard-working and loyal member of my staff for a number of years and has more than earned not only the title but the added responsibility associated with the position,” Billeter said. “He is one of the best young coaches in the country and we are fortunate to have him. He and his wife, Amber, are both tremendous representatives of Augustana University.”

Authier is in his 10th year overall on Billeter’s staff and is in his seventh season since rejoining the Viking staff in 2014. In the six previous seasons, Augustana has won the 2016 NCAA Division II National Championship, set a school record for victories in a season (34), advanced to three NCAA Tournaments and won a pair of NSIC Championships.

Over the same period, Authier has helped tutor 15 All-NSIC selections, five all-region honorees and three individuals to 13 All-America honors including the 2015-16 NABC National Player of the Year, Daniel Jansen.

Authier also spent three seasons with Augustana from 2008-11 and then spent three years at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi from 2011-14 before rejoining Billeter’s staff. A graduate of Augustana, Authier earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education in 2009.

Billeter is pleased with his staff heading into the 2020-21 season.

“With the addition of graduate assistant Makaleb McInnis and Casey Schlatter‘s full-time position, I feel we have one of the outstanding young staffs in all of basketball,” Billeter added.
