Wayne State College Director of Athletics Mike Powicki announced today that Wildcat head men’s basketball coach Brian Dolan will not be returning for the 2016-17 season.
“I want to thank Brian for his hard work and dedication to our men’s basketball program and Wayne State College,” commented Powicki. “I most certainly wish him well in the future.”
Powicki said a search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
Dolan spent three seasons at Wayne State College after serving seven seasons as head coach at Upper Iowa. While at Upper Iowa, he helped transition the men’s basketball program from NCAA Division III to the Northern Sun Conference and NCAA Division II culminating in a 20-12 record in 2012-13 and the schools’ first-ever trip to the NCAA Division II National Tournament.
Wayne State College is an NCAA Division II school located in Wayne, Nebraska and competes in the 16-team Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The Wildcats finished the 2015-16 season with records of 5-24 overall and 3-19 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
