The University of Florida has named Michael White as their new head coach. He replaces Billy Donovan who became the head coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder last week.
White has been the head coach at Louisiana Tech since 2011 where he has compiled a 101-40 record. His squad went 27-9 this past season and won the Conference USA regular season title.
The new Gators coach is familiar with the SEC – he was a point guard at Ole Miss (1996-99) and also an assistant at his alma mater for seven seasons.
White’s father Kevin is currently the AD at Duke, and has also held similar positions at Arizona State and Notre Dame.
