Carter Steps Down as Men’s Basketball Coach at Eastern New Mexico

Eastern New Mexico University athletic director Dr. Jeff Geiser has announced the resignation of men’s basketball coach Stott Carter. Carter had served on the Greyhound staff for seven seasons, which included the last two as head coach.

“On behalf of Eastern New Mexico University athletics we thank Stott for seven years of service to our student athletes,” said Geiser. “We wish him the best.”

During Carter’s stint at ENMU, the Hounds ended a four-year absence in the Lone Star Conference tournament and participated in the tournament in every season except for 2009-10. As head coach, he guided the squad to 13 victories, with LSC wins over Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas A&M-Kingsville.

A search for the Greyhounds 14th head coach is being organized immediately.
