HoopDirt gets another one right!

Back on April 20th, my colleague, Mr. Dirt declared Texas-San Antonio assistant Jay Spoonhour to be the front runner for the Moberly Area CC job (http://hoopdirt.com/blog/d140dc/moberly-area-community-colle…). Turns out he was correct! Spoonhour has indeed taken over at Moberly. No big press conference or announcement, but he has gotten the job. Damn we’re good!!

A few quick notes……..

As I mentioned the other day, Cliff Ellis is looking to hire at Coastal Carolina (http://www.hoopdirt.com/blog/3fa50ba1/todays-rumors-and-news…). Apparently he is now looking to replace his entire staff. Jamie Kachmarik has officially departed for Appalachian State, Scott Stapleton has gone to the Alabama Basketball Academy, and Raheem Waller has not been retained. That leaves DOB Jimbo Tolbert

A few rumors and news items to start the week: It looks like Coastal Carolina Head Coach Cliff Ellis will be looking for two assistants. Jamie Kachmarik is rumored to be leaving to reunite with Buzz Peterson at Appalachian State. Kachmarik worked for Peterson when he was the head coach at Coastal Carolina from 2005-2007.

Picked up a few New England items…… It looks like Dartmouth Head Coach Terry Dunn is going to promote volunteer assistant Matt Raidbard to full-time assistant. The Indiana grad has also been an assistant at Western New Mexico. Staying with the Ivy League, it looks like Harvard volunteer Josh Meyer will also be moved up.

Northern Illinois associate head coach Dennis Gates is a candidate for a spot on David Carter’s staff. Gates has been at Northern Illinois for the past two seasons.

UW-Platteville Update

As we reported last week, current assistant Jeff Gard has officially applied for the head coaching position at UW-P. We are also hearing that Will Ryan is in the mix for the position. Will is the son of Bo Ryan who won four national championships at UW-Platteville and is currently the head coach at Wisconsin.
