Cal Poly schedules 4pm presser for Thursday; Expected to name Smith as Head Basketball Coach
Cal Poly is expected to name John Smith as their next head basketball coach at a 4:00pm press conference on Thursday. Smith has been the associate head coach at Cal State Fullerton for the past six seasons. Before that, he went 96-87 (.693) in nine seasons as the head coach at Riverside City College (CA).
REPORT: Otzelberger headed to UNLV
Multiple reports, including one from the Las Vegas Sun, are confirming that T. J. Otzelberger will become the next head basketball coach at UNLV. HoopDirt.com mentioned him earlier this morning in the Daily Dirt as “gaining momentum” here. The 41-year old has spent the past three seasons as the head coach at South Dakota State.
