Following up on my TWEET from earlier this morning…
Last night, I heard from multiple sources that Cleveland State head coach Dennis Felton had been yanked from the road, and told that he would be meeting with new AD Scott Garrett today. It is unclear if Felton will remain as the coach after the meeting, but he is under contract through the 2021-22 season. At $350,000 per season, I’d be curious to see how CSU could even consider buying him out.
Felton, the former head coach at both Georgia and Western Kentucky, has struggled in his two seasons at CSU. He led the Vikings to a 12-23 record in year one, and following that up with a 10-21 mark this season. He has also had some roster defections, including last season’s leading scorer Tyree Appleby.
More on this story as it develops.
