Daily Dirt – 3/16/20

  • I’ve heard that Parker is running the search at UIC. Some very (very) early names here: former Illinois special assistant Jamall Walker, Kansas assistant Jerrance Howard, Nebraska assistant Armon Gates, and Western Michigan head coach Steve Hawkins. More on this one as it shakes out.

  • Andy Kennedy has been licking his chops for a while at UAB. The former Ole Miss and Cincinnati head coach played for the Blazers (1987-90), and has most recently been working for the SEC network. He holds a 266-169 (.611) record in 13 seasons as a head coach. Working on more names, even though Kennedy is far and away the leader here.

  • I can confirm that Central Arkansas assistant Tyler Miller has resigned. He had spent six seasons on the staff there working his way up from GA to DBO to assistant in 2017. No word yet on a possible replacement.

  • I have heard that Texas A&M International has made their choice, and will now be the second Lone Star Conference school to hire an assistant from with in their league. Western New Mexico hired UTBP assistant Zane Gibson last week – TAMIU will hire a LSC assistant this week. Will roll with it when I can…
