Losing track of days already here at the HD World HQ. Here is what I believe to be Friday’s Daily Dirt…
- I keep hearing that Louisiana Monroe associate head coach Ryan Cross is in the mix to join Andy Kennedy at UAB. I’ve also heard Clemson director of recruiting Philip Pearson’s name mentioned here as well as a current D1 JUCO head coach. More on this as it shakes down.
- Furman’s Bob Richey has pulled out of the race at JMU. While most still believe Radford’s Mike Jones is the leader here, there is another name lurking…a current head coach with ties to the state. I’ll update this when I can.
- Interviews at Iowa Western are in the Skype phase, with 8-10 guys getting interviews. The search did hit a little snag (more on this soon), but did continue today. Names that I’ve heard are:
- Former Iona assistant Tra Arnold
- Troy assistant Mike Worley
- Southwest Mississippi CC head coach Bryan Bender
- Des Moines Area CC head coach Josh Sash
- Iowa Western assistant Chad Van Riessen
- 2 head coaches from the south (one has pulled out though because he got a different job)
- Dodge City CC (KS) is done – hired a current head coach from out of the region (see above). More on that one soon.
- I’ve heard that Garden City CC (KS) will wrap up interviews on Monday. I have some names, but need to confirm.
- It sounds like new NCAA D2 Converse College will be doing their next (and possibly final) round interviews on Skype Monday through Wednesday of next week. I’ve heard a current D2 head coach and at least one D2 assistant are in the mix here. More soon.
- JUCO DIRT from earlier today…SUNY Ulster head coach Justin Maxwell has stepped away. More HERE. This will continue to be a part-time job – should have the posting soon.
