Daily Dirt – 3/25/19

Some things to kick off what is expected to be a busy week…

  • I have heard that Korn Ferry has the Vanderbilt search. Not a huge surprise since they just ran the recent AD search. Too early for any legit names here yet. I’ll have some soon though.

  • The Luke Murray to Fairfield rumors are heating up. Should know something either way on this one by mid-week.The Louisville assistant is a 2007 Fairfield alum.

  • It sounds like new George Washington head coach Jamion Christian will be bringing Graham Bousley and Ryan Devlin with him from Siena. Bousley was with him at Mount Saint Mary’s, and Devlin has previously served as a prep coach in the DMV. Christian won’t be taking DBO Harley Fuller with him – I’ve heard from multiple sources that he will be a part of new head coach Carmen Maciariello’s new staff at Siena.

  • I can confirm that Ryan Brown in no longer the Director of Basketball Operations at Towson. He had previously served as the Graduate Assistant at TCU. I’ll have the job posted shortly. **UPDATE: job is now posted HERE.**

  • I have heard from multiple sources that George Mason assistant Aaron Kelly is the leader for the recently opened Catholic University job. He has been with Dave Paulsen since 2007 at George Mason, Bucknell and Williams. He is a 2006 graduate of Catholic.

  • I mentioned last week that Cal State Fullerton assistant coach Danny Sprinkle is the hot name at Montana State. Here’s the committee that he’ll have to contend with: Casey Fox, Senior Associate Athletic Director, Camie Bechtold, Senior Associate Athletic Director, Harald Frey, Men’s Basketball player, George Haynes, Faculty Athletics Representative, Terry Leist, Vice President, Administration & Finance, Rainey Peuse, Alumni Relations Advisory Board Member/6th Man Club Member, Stu Starner, Former Montana State Men’s Basketball Coach/6th Man Club Member.

  • Skype interviews at DIII Emory & Henry are starting this week. More here when I get the list.

  • I can confirm that Jon Branam is no longer the head basketball coach at NJCAA Harrisburg Area CC. He had spent the past four seasons as the head coach at HACC.

  • The HoopDirt.com March Madness Challenge presented by MyPlay standings can be found HERE. 105 so called basketball experts have entered, and my 8-year old is in 4th.  Makes sense…
