Daily Dirt – 4/14/15

Another busy day here at the HD World Headquarters – here’s what I’ve heard so far…

  • New VCU head coach Will Wade will add Wes Long and Rasheen Davis to his staff.  Long has been with Wade for the past two seasons at Chattanooga.  He is the former head coach at Queens (NC).  Davis was the associate head coach at Manhattan last season.  Before coming to Manhattan three years ago, he worked for Chris Mack at Xavier, and was also an administrative staffer for Jamie Dixon at Pitt.
  • I have heard that Florida video coordinator Pete Gash will be joining Matt McCall’s new staff at Chattanooga.  Gash and McCall also worked together for Mike Jarvis at Florida Atlantic.  Before coming to FAU, Gash served as a GA to Tom Crean at Indiana.
  • I have heard from two good sources that the Indian River State College (FL) job is now open.  Still waiting for the official word, but I have heard that the search is already underway.
  • Yesterday, Hood College (MD) head coach Tom Dickman announced his resignation (Dickman Steps Down at Hood, Remains AD).  I have now heard from multiple sources that Dickman’s son Chad is the front runner to replace him.  The younger Dickman joined his father’s staff back in 2013 after a nine year run as the associate head coach at DII Wheeling Jesuit (WVa.).  He also serves as the head golf coach at Hood.
