Just a few quick things to close out the week…
Louisiana Tech assistant Aaron Smith is on the move and will join Griff Aldrich’s staff at Longwood. Smith had been at Tech for the past three seasons, and has also been the head coach at JUCO’s Panola (TX) and Jacksonville (TX).
Long-time college assistant Freddie Owens is headed to the HS ranks, and will take over as the head coach at Kimberly High School (WI). Owens, a former standout at Wisconsin, has been an assistant Green Bay, Oregon State, Holy Cross, Utah Valley, Montana and Adams State College, and also worked as a GA at Iowa State.
I mentioned some names in the search at D3 Wilson College earlier this week (DAILY DIRT – 5/1). I’ve been told to add Dexter Harris from D2 Millersville to the list. Harris has been at Millersville since 2021, and also spent four seasons as an assistant at D3 Widener. Sounds like this search could wrap-up today.
Cloud County CC assistant coach Nick Lenhard is on the move to D2 West Florida where he is joining Justin Mann’s staff as an assistant. Lenhard has also worked as an assistant at NAIA St. Ambrose (IA), and D3 Castleton State (VT).
