DAILY DIRT – 7/14/26

Story: Adam Nelson (@HD_DirtKing)

I have heard that the search at D3 Maine Farmington has been narrowed to three, with on campus interviews being held this week. It sounds like the finalists are: Johns Hopkins Associate Head Coach Jack Barrett, Former Dartmouth, Stonehill and Brandies assistant Josh Einhorn, and a current head coach in the GNAC. They were among the original group of 6-8 who interviewed via Zoom at the end of June. The list of Zooms can be found here -> Maine Farmington Search Update.

Waynesburg assistant Zach Stevens is on the move and will be headed to Grinnell. Last season was Stevens first at Waynesburg – he has also been an assistant at Nebraska Wesleyan, Gordon, Regis, and Plymouth State. An official announcement on this move is expected shortly.

It sounds like Chris “Willie” Moody will be named as an assistant men’s basketball coach at NAIA William Carey University. Moody returns to his alma mater after spending the 2025-26 season as an assistant coach at Mississippi Gulf Coast CC. Prior to that, Moody spent 4 years as a student-athlete at William Carey before serving one season as a graduate assistant with the program.

It’s been an odd off season at NAIA Spring Arbor (MI). Former head coach Ryan Cottingham announced his retirement back in early April. About weeks later, Mark DeLaney was hired, but lasted about a month before being 404’d from the website. It sounds like the search for their third head coach this spring is now nearing the end. A name that keeps popping up here is former Dartmouth assistant Ryan Kapustka. The Michigan native has also worked at UIC and Rice. More on this one as I hear it.
