Daily Dirt II: 4/25/23

Story: Adam Nelson (@HD_DirtKing)

Daily Dirt Round 2…(here’s round 1 from earlier today in case you missed it –> DAILY DIRT).

In today’s earlier DD, I mentioned Bino Ranson and Xavier Joyner getting interviews at Coppin State. Two more names that are on the list from what I’ve heard are East Carolina assistant coach Jake Morton (a Baltimore native), and Morgan State assistant Larry Stewart (former Coppin State standout who played in the NBA). So far, all four candidates have very strong DMV ties.

In yesterday’s DAILY DIRT, I mentioned that Texas A&M Commerce assistant Ted Rawlings is headed to Holy Cross (this is confirmed). I have now heard that new Crusaders head coach Dave Paulsen intends to retain current assistant RJ Evans. The Holy Cross alum (2012) had been on Brett Nelson’s staff for the past four season, and has also worked at UNC Asheville, Louisville, and Texas. Working hard to find the 3rd name…

I have heard that Marquette video coordinator Dayshawn Wells is on the move and will join the Nicholls State staff as an assistant coach. Wells has been at MU for the past two seasons, and was at Radford for two seasons before that. He has also been involved with DMV region’s Team Thrill AAU.

I teased this one earlier today on TWITTER…still waiting for the green light to run with the name, but I have heard that the search at D3 Cabrini College is done. Sounds like they’re hiring a current D3 head coach. More on this shortly…
