Finally back from a long trip up north to Maine. Catching up on a bunch of things that I’ve heard…

I have heard that the leader for the vacant Director of Basketball Operations spot at Yale is Windward School (CA) assistant Matt Elkin. Before heading out west, Elkin served as an assistant at prep powerhouse Vermont Academy, and as a graduate assistant at Northeastern. Sounds like this one will be wrapped up shortly.

Evan Manning has become a graduate assistant on Mark Few’s staff at Gonzaga. Manning had been on the Wake Forest staff in various administrative roles for the past four seasons. He is the son of former Wake Forest head coach Danny Manning.

CJ Gleaton is headed to D2 Anderson University (SC) as an assistant coach. He spent the past two seasons as an assistant at Quincy University (IL), and was a graduate assistant at Clemson before that. He is an Anderson U alum. An official announcement is expected shortly.

I can confirm that Alfred University (NY) associate head coach Mike Romano is headed to Putnam Science Academy (CT), where he will become the varsity head coach, and assist with the national prep team. Romano had been at Alfred for the past three seasons, and also worked as an assistant at Hartwick College (NY) and Rhode Island College.

David Kaplan has joined the men’s basketball staff at Davidson County CC (NC). He has previously served as an assistant coach at Catholic University (DC) and Centenary College (LA).

Our list of college sports cancellations has pivoted to cuts, suspensions and closings. Since most sports will not be playing this fall, it makes more sense to track it this way during this crazy time. The list can be found HERE, and will be updated daily.
