Daily Roundup – 1/7/16

  • ESPN’s Jay Bilas watched the Syracuse-Miami game with Jim Boeheim at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Syracuse.  This was the eighth game of Boeheim’s nine game suspension.  Portions of Bilas’ live game viewing with the Syracuse coach will air on this week’s SportsCenter and during the UNC-Syracuse game. I am definitely looking forward to watching and hearing Boeheim’s thoughts.  Bilas told ESPN “Front Row” what it was like to watch the game with Boeheim:

“It differed from moment to moment. At times, we talked about big picture things, and at other times, we talked about specific points about the game. Jim sees every detail with each individual player, and you could see the coach in him. He was analytical at times, frustrated and emotional at others. Overall, I think he’s disappointed that he couldn’t communicate at all with his team and staff, and he couldn’t help them the way he would have liked.”

  • Looking to buy a golf course?  According to Golf Digest, a few years ago, Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes sunk some of his cash into the semi-private Brookstone Meadows Golf & Country Club in Anderson, South Carolina.  Now he is looking to sell.  Asking price?  $1.6 million.  Looks like a pretty nice place – here’s the official listing: Brookstone Meadows GC. Maybe The DirtKing will kick the tires on this one…
  • Notre Dame at Boston College tonight in an ACC tilt.  Does this one count as a home game for Notre Dame as well?? (said the disgruntled BC alum who is still unhappy about what went down at Fenway in November).   Notre Dame hosts BC football at Fenway.
