Syracuse head men’s basketball coach Jim Boeheim has tested positive for COVID-19. Syracuse alum Allen Griffin named assistant basketball coach for the Orange

Former Syracuse men’s basketball standout Former Syracuse men’s basketball standout Allen Griffin has been named an assistant basketball coach at his alma mater, according to head coach Jim Boeheim. Griffin replaces Mike Hopkins, who accepted the head coaching position at Washington. Griffin, who played at Syracuse from 1997-to-2001, brings 15 years of Division I coaching

ESPN’s Jay Bilas watched the Syracuse-Miami game with Jim Boeheim at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Syracuse.  This was the eighth game of Boeheim’s nine game suspension.  Portions of Bilas’ live game viewing with the Syracuse coach will air on this week’s SportsCenter and during the UNC-Syracuse game. HOT: NCAA Rules on Appeal of Boeheim’s Suspension

The NCAA Infractions Appeal Committee issued a ruling today on the nine-game suspension which was imposed on Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim back in March.  The appeal of the suspension was denied, but the NCAA did rule that Boeheim can begin serving the suspension immediately instead of waiting for the start of ACC conference play.

Hopkins Formally Named Men’s Basketball Head Coach Designate at Syracuse

Syracuse University Chancellor Kent Syverud today announced he has formally named Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Hopkins as head coach-designate. Hopkins will succeed Coach Jim Boeheim following the 2017-18 men’s basketball season.
