I can confirm that Salem University (WVa) head coach Adam Williams will be named as an assistant coach on Donnie Jones’ new staff at Stetson. Williams has previously worked for Jones at UCF (2012-15).
This past season, Williams led Salem to a 17-9 mark – their best record since 2005-06. He was also tabbed as the ECAC DII Coach of the Year. In addition to his time at UCF, he has also worked at the DI level at Marshall and Longwood.
I have also heard that Salem will act quickly and promote associate head coach Robert Ford to replace Williams. Ford has been on Williams staff for the past two seasons, and previously served as an assistant at OLLU, Paris JC, Neosho CC, and Texas A&M-Commerce.
An official announcement is expected shortly.
