HoopDirt.com can confirm that Texas A&M University-Commerce will hire Hartford assistant Jaret von Rosenberg as their new head basketball coach. He will replace long-time head coach Sam Walker who transitioned into a new role with the school after spending 17-years at the helm of the Lions.
Before joining the Hartford staff prior to the 2015-16 season, von Rosenberg spent two seasons as an assistant at Texas A&M Commerce under Walker. He also spent two seasons as an assistant at Abilene Christian, and has a great reputation for being able to recruit the state of Texas.
The Hartford alum was a 1,000-point scorer for the Hawks’ and he owns the program record for free-throw percentage (.831) and ranks in the top 10 in made free throws, assists, and steals.
