DIII DIRT: Change made at Brooklyn College

Following up on an item from yesterday’s Daily Dirt where I mentioned that a change had been made in the CUNY Athletic Conference…

I can now confirm that Rich Micallef is no longer the head basketball coach at Brooklyn College. Assistant coach Jeffrey Jean-Baptiste has been elevated to the role of interim head coach.

Micallef became the head coach at his alma mater back in 2014. He graduated in 1984 as Brooklyn’s all-time leading scorer with 1,740 career points, a record that stood until 2010. In his four seasons as a head coach, he compiled a 58-53 record, including back-to-back 22+ win seasons during his first two campaigns.

Jean-Baptiste has been on the Brooklyn College staff for the past eleven seasons, serving last season as the associate head coach.

More on this when it becomes official.
