HoopDirt.com can confirm that Jelani Townsell is out as the head coach at Newbury College (MA).  In his five seasons at the helm, Townsell compiled a 35-93 (.273) record, including a 2-23 campaign this season (which ended with a 19-game losing streak).  After winning 26 games in his first two seasons, with two New England Collegiate Conference semifinal appearances, the Nighthawks struggled to a 9-66 record over the past three years.  I have heard that an official statement from the school is expected as early as Monday.
