OFFICIAL: Polsgrove resigns at D3 Eastern Nazarene

Following up on something that HoopDirt.com first reported back on June 8th (D3 DIRT). The resignation of Scott Polsgrove as the head coach at D3 Eastern Nazarene College has been made official. ENC released the following statement earlier today:

Eastern Nazarene College Head Men’s Basketball Coach and Director of Track & Field Scott Polsgrove has announced his resignation.

Polsgrove spent the past five seasons with the Lions’ men’s basketball program and compiled a 55-57 record.

“Scott has been an incredible coach and mentor to the men in his programs over the past five years. He has also been a model to so many student-athletes and colleagues on how to honor and glorify the Lord while pursuing professional excellence. We will miss Scott and his family and will be praying for them during this transition,” said Director of Athletics Dr. Brad Zarges.

Named the 13th head men’s basketball coach in 2016, he guided Eastern Nazarene to three conference tournament appearances. Seven student-athletes attained all-conference accolades under Polsgrove’s tutelage while three reached the1,000 career point mark.

“My family and I have thoroughly enjoyed our five years at Eastern Nazarene College so it is with great sadness but also with a great sense of purpose that we move on to the next phase of our lives,” commented Polsgrove. “It was a privilege to coach the young men in our program and I was blessed to work with outstanding assistant coaches. I want to especially thank Dr. Brad Zarges for having confidence in me to run the men’s basketball program.”

In 2019, Polsgrove was appointed Director of Track & Field and led the Lions’ men’s track & field squad to a second-place finish at the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championships where nine student-athletes collected All-NECC honors.

A national search for Polsgrove’s successor will begin immediately.
