Duckett named assistant basketball coach at Illinois College

Illinois College has announced that Luke Duckett has been named as an assistant men’s basketball coach.

Duckett comes to Illinois College from Carroll University where he has spent the last two years serving as an assistant coach. Prior to Carroll, he spent 5 years in Denver Colorado as the Director of Basketball Operations for the Colorado Premier Nike EYBL Basketball Club. During his time in Colorado, Duckett coached the program’s top high school travel teams while serving as program’s director of recruiting, director of camps, and the coordinator of the Skills Academy.

Duckett attended the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire as a basketball recruit and graduated in 2013 with a degree in Mathematics Education, and recently completed his Master’s in Adult Education at Carroll University.

Head coach of the Blueboys basketball program Steve Schweer is excited to welcome Duckett to the team. “We are really excited about the addition of Coach Duckett to our staff. He will bring tremendous energy and enthusiasm to our program! His experience working for Coach Paul Combs at Carroll University will translate well to Illinois College, and give a fresh perspective to our staff. He also brings with him a wide recruiting network that we are excited to tap into. Above all else, Luke is a high character coach who will build strong relationships with the young men in our program. We were looking for a relentless worker to fill this role and I believe we found that in Luke Duckett,” Schweer stated.
