Following-up on my tweet from earlier this morning…

I have heard from multiple sources that Fairleigh Dickinson intends to hire Tobin Anderson as their new head men’s basketball coach. Anderson has spent the past nine seasons as the head coach at D2 St. Thomas Aquinas (NY), where he has gone 209-62 (.771).

This past season, Anderson led STAC to the NCAA D2 East Region Finals with a 28-5 (17-1) record. For his efforts, Anderson was named as the East Coast Conference Coach of the Year as well as the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Coach of the Year. He has won both of these awards multiple times. Anderson was also named as HoopDirt.com’s D2 Coach of the Week following week 15 of the season on February 22nd.

Before coming to STAC, Anderson spent two seasons as an assistant at Siena. He has also served as the head coach at D3’s Clarkson University (1999-04), and Hamilton College (2005-11). Anderson’s overall record as a head coach is 394-191 (.674) in 21-seasons.

He will replace Greg Herenda, who was released back on April 25th.

An official announcement is expected today or more likely tomorrow, with a press conference tentatively scheduled for Wednesday.
