  • NAIA Dakota State (S.D.) University Head Trojan Men’s Basketball Coach Gary Garner will return to sidelines this weekend.  He has been out since October 29th while recovering from surgery for pancreatic cancer. DSU Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach Michael Larsen took over the head coaching roles during Garner’s absence. Full story HERE.

  • Former Clemson standout David Potter recently joined the basketball staff at DIII Lycoming College (PA). Following his career with the Tigers, Potter spent time in the NBA Developmental League as well as overseas. Lycoming is currently 13-1 and ranked #6 in the nation.

  • Ex-Arizona quarterback Matt Scott took a shot at Arizona head basketball coach Sean Miller on Twitter yesterday. Upset that the Wildcats fired football coach Rich Rodriquez, Scott Tweeted: How you gonna fire @CoachRodAZ over a false story and say “we wanted to reaffirm our commitment to our values” and your not gonna fire Miller for paying players? Smh yall look stupid. There were also some interesting comments following the tweet which can be found HERE.

  • Former Louisville head coach Rick Pitino was apparently not happy about Pitt head coach Kevin Stallings’ comments to the Louisville crowd the other night. After Stallings “at least we didn’t pay our guys $100,000” comment, Pitino texted WKRD radio personality John Ramsey who tweeted: A text to me from Coach Pitino this morning.. here we go.. U can quote me -Stallings is a Jackass. Nice.

  • Great clip HERE from Fox College Hoops as Georgetown head coach Patrick Ewing gets after leading scorer Marcus Derrickson during a time out. I think a lot of coaches can relate to this one!

  • Some recent milestone victories:

Mike Brey became the all-time leader in wins at Notre Dame. Wednesday’s win over NC State was the 394th for Brey at Notre Dame, passing Digger Phelps’ previous record of 393. More on the historic win HERE.

Jerry Carrillo got his 500th career win at Cochise College (AZ). Now in his 23rd season at the school, Carillo has led the Apaches to 21 consecutive Region I playoff appearances.

Dominican College Head Men’s Basketball Coach Joe Clinton earned his 400th career coaching victory. He has led the program to three CACC Championships and four twenty-win seasons. He is a three-time recipient of the CACC Coach of the Year Award and is a past recipient of the All-Metropolitan Coach of the Year Award.

Chris Hackett won the 100th game of his career at Frank Phillips College (TX) last night. He is also the school’s all-time leader in wins.
