University of Northern Iowa men’s basketball coach Ben Jacobson has announced the promotion of Kyle Green to Associate Head Coach.
Green will be entering his 13th year on the Panther basketball coaching staff. He serves as the program’s recruiting coordinator and works with the Panther post players . Green is in his third stint as an assistant coach for the UNI Panther men’s basketball team. Green served as an assistant from 2001-2003 and from 2006-2011. He re-joined the Panther staff prior to the 2012-2013 season.
“Kyle continues to do a tremendous job for both our university and our basketball team,” Jacobson said. “His impact can be seen and felt in every corner of our program. K.G.’s passion for UNI, our players, our community and the recruitment of future student-athletes is second to none. I am thrilled about the current direction our program and couldn’t be happier that Kyle will be serving as our Associate Head Coach.”
A native of Minneapolis, Minn., Green received his bachelor’s degree in social studies/psychology from Hamline in 1992. He was a four-year letterwinner for Hamline, earning academic all-conference honors as both a junior and senior.
Green earned his master’s degree in athletic administration from St. Thomas University in 1999.
He and his wife, Michele, are the parents of a son, A.J. (17), and a daughter, Emerson (15).
