Matt Majkrzak Named Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Bryant & Stratton College – Wisconsin

Bryant & Stratton College – Wisconsin Athletics has hired Matt Majkrzak as its new head men’s basketball coach for its NJCAA Division II program.

The Elkhart Lake, Wis. native comes from NCAA Division II Bemidji State (Bemidji, Minn.) where he was the top assistant from 2014-18. Majkrzak (MACK-er-zak) helped increase the Beavers wins every season both overall and in conference play.

“I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to be the head coach and be a part of Bryant & Stratton College athletics,” Majkrzak said. “This fulfills a lifelong dream of not only becoming a head coach but also returning home to Wisconsin. This state has a rich basketball tradition and I look forward to helping Bryant & Stratton become an integral part of the Wisconsin basketball community.”

At Bemidji, Majkrzak recruited heavily in Wisconsin. Majkrzak coaching resume also includes assistant coach at Chadron State (Chadron, Neb., 2012-14) and four years at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (2008-12) as a student assistant coach. He also founded the Wisconsin Jets AAU program.

“I appreciate Matt’s contributions to BSU over the last four years and I am very excited for him to get his first head coaching job,” Bemidji State University’s head men’s basketball coach Mike Boschee said. “Matt is a hungry coach that wants to succeed. He has the energy and passion to be very successful. He understands the importance of recruiting and will work tirelessly to put a great product on the floor for Bryant & Stratton College.”

Majkrzak is the second men’s basketball coach in Bryant & Stratton history. Majkrzak is taking over a team that went 15-15 overall last season, 10-9 in Region IV.

Bryant & Stratton College launched athletics in 2016 with men’s and women’s basketball and men’s golf. The Bobcats have added baseball, softball, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s golf and volleyball since they began junior college athletics.

“I believe Matt can take this program and build it to where it needs to be,” Athletic Director Greg Brandner said. “He fits right in with the culture here and we are all extremely excited to watch him recruit from around the state and the Midwest for the upcoming season.”

Majkrzak has started recruiting for the 2018-19 season. Interested recruits should fill out the Bryant & Stratton Recruitment Form.
