Men’s Basketball Coaching Change made at D2 Erskine College

Erskine College announced that former long-time basketball coach Mark Peeler will return to the bench in 2023-24 as the Fleet’s Head Men’s Basketball Coach. Peeler previously coached Erskine from 1999-2018 before transitioning into the role of Vice-President for Athletics. Peeler will step down from the position of VP for Athletics in June but will remain as the athletic director overseeing the day to day operations of the department.

Peeler is second on Erskine’s all-time win list for coaches behind the legendary Red Myers. He is in his 20th year leading the Flying Fleet athletics department. Peeler replaces Lee Sartor who resigned after the completion of the 2022-23 season.

The school also announced that assistant coach Mike Morrison will be elevated to Associate Head Coach. Morrison recently completed his first season as an assistant for the Fleet.
