Following up on a story that HoopDirt.com first reported earlier this week (JUCO DIRT). Tallahassee Community College has finally released a statement on the resignation of head basketball coach Mark White:
Tallahassee Community College director of athletics Rob Chaney announced, on Friday, that Mark White is stepping down as the Eagles’ head men’s basketball coach.
White, who was in his fourth year as the Eagles’ head coach, is stepping down due to personal reasons. He guided Tallahassee to postseason berths in each of his first two seasons (2016 and 2017) and posted a 79-33 record with the Eagles.
“I am very appreciative of the time and energy that Coach White has invested in our student-athletes and the men’s basketball program at Tallahassee Community College, and wish him nothing but the very best,” said Chaney.
Chaney also announced that assistant coach Zach Settembre will be elevated to interim head coach for the remainder of the season.
Settembre, a graduate of Syracuse University where he was a student assistant under Hall of Fame coach Jim Boehiem, joined the Eagles’ staff prior to 2018-19 season.
Tallahassee’s next game is Saturday at home against arch-rival Chipola College. Tip-off is at 7:30 p.m.
