Payne Named Head Men’s Basketball Coach at SUNY Adirondack

SUNY Adirondack Athletics welcomes William Payne as the new Head Men’s Basketball Coach.  Payne has experience as a head and assistant coach over his 10+ years in coaching at the collegiate level.  He was most recently the head coach at Miami University Hamilton, where his team won both the Ohio Regional Campus Conference regular season and conference championships.  Payne is the owner/operator of The College Basketball Process, a non-profit organization created to be an information resource for high school and college athletes, parents and coaches.

“We are thrilled to announce William as the next head coach for the Timberwolves men’s basketball program,” said Zach Schwan, SUNY Adirondack Director of Athletics.  “He brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience coaching at the small school level and is passionate about building a culture dedicated to helping our athletes be successful in the classroom, community, and on the court.  We look forward to watching the Adirondack Men’s Basketball program thrive under Coach Payne’s leadership.”

William graduated from University of Cincinnati with an associate’s degree in Human Services & Addictions and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Lambuth University.  In addition to coaching basketball, he is a licensed and practicing therapist.  William and his wife, Allie, are the proud parents of five sons; John, Keith, Marcus, Morgan, and William Jr.  They will be residing in Glens Falls, NY.
