According to multiple reports, Xavier assistant Ben Johnson is expected to be named as the new head men’s basketball coach at Minnesota. He will replace Richard Pitino, who became the head coach at New Mexico earlier this month.
Johnson, a two-time captain at Minnesota, spent five seasons (2013-18) as an assistant with the Gophers. In addition to his time at Xavier and Minnesota, he has also been an assistant at Nebraska, Northern Iowa, and Texas Pan American and worked as a GA at Dayton.
More on this when it becomes official.
