According to a TWEET by The Athletic’s Jason Quick, University of Maine assistant men’s basketball coach Edniesha Curry will join Chauncey Billups’ new staff with the Portland Trail Blazers as an assistant.
Curry has been on the Black Bears men’s staff since 2018, and was an assistant with the women’s team at Maine before that. She was a 3rd round pick (#41) in the 2002 WNBA draft out of Oregon. Curry played in the league with the Phoenix Mercury and Los Angeles Sparks.
With the departure of Curry, the University of Maine has now lost all three assistants from last season. I reported back on 7/9 (DAILY DIRT) that both Kevin Reed and Igor Vrzina were no longer on the Black Bears staff. No replacements have been named yet.
