According to multiple reports (here, here), Steve Prohm will return to Murray State and become the new head basketball coach. He would take over for his former assistant Matt McMahon, who departed last week for LSU.
Prohm spent 2011-14 as the Racers head coach, putting together a big-time record of 104–29 (.782). He was named as the OVC Coach of the Year twice – in 2012 and 2015. Prohm then moved on to Iowa State, where he was the head coach from 2015-21. He made three NCAA Tournament appearances at ISU, but struggled towards the end of his tenure – in his last season, he went 2-22 (0-18 Big 12).
Before being elevated to head coach at Murray State, Prohm had spent five seasons as an assistant there under former head coach Billy Kennedy.
More on this one when it becomes official.
