Saint Mary’s men’s basketball head coach Randy Bennett announced promotions within the coaching staff and operations to round out his staff for the upcoming season.

Bennett promoted Justin Joyner to assistant coach, following a season as Director of Operations last year with the Gaels.

“Justin was a strong addition last year and did a fantastic job in the operations role,” Bennett said. “Now having him on the court will help our guys improve. He brings a tremendous amount of energy and is excellent on individual training.”

This season Marcus Schroeder will be entering his fourth season as an assistant coach and seventh season overall with the Gaels. Danny Yoshikawa enters his second season as assistant coach and fourth season overall, with Joyner entering his second season overall to round out the three assistants under Bennett.

An additional promotion within the staff is Dominic Lippi to Director of Basketball Operations. Lippi has spent the past three seasons working various roles with the Gaels.

“Dom has continued to show his worth to the program and he works relentlessly in the office,” Bennett said. “He has a bright future in college basketball.”

Drew Seidenberger has been elevated to Assistant Athletic Director for Basketball after spending the past two seasons as a special assistant to the program.
