I have heard from multiple sources that Sam Houston State will hire Western Texas College head coach Andre Owens as an assistant. He will replace Kyle Campbell who became an assistant Coffeyville CC (KS) back in the spring.

Owens has been the head coach at WTC for the past three seasons (48-38), and was an assistant at the school for one season before being elevated. The Texas native and Texas San Antonio alum, was an assistant at Oklahoma City University from 2012-15. He played professionally in Germany, Turkey, and in the Continental Basketball Association after graduation.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
